It is the mission of the Sequoia Middle School Music
program to provide high quality musical performances
by learning in a positive, hard-working and creative
environment. Our program sets high standards of
excellence through the principles of respect,
responsibility, dedication and teamwork.
Marching Band -
Our Band will perform Porterville's first JV field
show at the MHS vs PHS football game on November 1,
2007. They also will perform at various community
events throughout the year. Approximately 60 members
strong, the Gold & Crimson Marching Band
represents our school and community with
PRIDE, DIGNITY AND CLASS!
Sequoia Choir -
Performances will be
held throughout the year and will include school
concerts, festivals, and public performances. We
also have a Choir Club that meets weekly on Fridays
before school begins.
Orchestra - The
orchestra program at Sequoia provides students with
an invaluable experience in music as an art form.
Students master performing skills on their
instrument, serve the school and community through
quality concert performances, and enhance school
spirit! Through disciplined work, we gain skills in
teamwork and leadership. Several performances
planned for this year include the Autumn Serenade,
Winter Festivities, T.K.M.E.A./C.M.E.A., and the
Porterville Schools Art Show. |
